Ahead of Como Women vs Sassuolo: Paolo Tramezzani’s Pre-Match Statements
Tomorrow at 12:30 PM, at the Stadio Ferruccio in Seregno, Como Women will take the field against Sassuolo in the match valid for the 14th round of the Serie A Women Athora. On the eve of the game, the new head coach of the Lariane, Paolo Tramezzani, who was appointed earlier this week to lead the first team, spoke to the media.
First impressions: “I immediately felt comfortable. More than signals, I received confirmations: this is a good team, they train well and are very serious in their work. In these first five days it has truly been a pleasure to work with the group. I’ve started to get to know the players and they’ve started to get to know me — it has all felt very natural, a very good start.”
On the overall condition of the squad: “I watched the team in the recent matches: they have always delivered strong performances, through playing principles that made them competitive against any opponent. From a physical standpoint the team is in very good shape, and I would like to compliment the staff and Stefano Sottili for the work done up to this point.”
On what we might already see against Sassuolo: “I hope to see both confidence and some aspects of my playing philosophy, because the two are closely connected. When a team plays with composure and belief, it can express itself at its best. Tomorrow is my debut — it may go well or not so well — but that will not affect the work moving forward. I hope for a strong performance: for the way they have trained, the players deserve to take something positive from the match.”
Finally, on the mental aspect and the approach to the game: “In the last few matches, the team has always had a very good approach. By ‘very good’ I mean being fully in the game, managing situations well, and having a clear structure and game plan. The team has consistently shown that. Looking ahead, there are many aspects to work on, train and refine, but it seems to me that this team has in its DNA — in the way they take the field — the desire to play with clear ideas.”
