Como Women vs Ternana Women: Paolo Tramezzani’s pre-match statements

Serie A Women Athora returns after the international break. Como Women will face Ternana Women in the match scheduled for tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. at the Stadio Ferruccio in Seregno. On the eve of the game, Lariane head coach Paolo Tramezzani shared his thoughts.

“We’re happy that this week we’ve finally been back together as a full group. There’s a real desire to get back to playing. Before the break the team had won two games in a row, so we hope to pick up where we left off. Of course there are always some unknowns, both for us and for the other teams. I believe the impact at the start of the match will be very important, especially from a mental standpoint: we need to get into the game straight away without waiting for things to happen or allowing the opponents to put us under pressure.”

“We need to bring into the game what we’ve worked on during these three weeks of training. It’s true that we didn’t have matches, but in terms of focus and commitment the players have always responded very well. Those who returned from international duty also came back in excellent condition. We know this is another important match for us, another opportunity to improve certain aspects and continue to grow. That’s our path, and we want tomorrow’s match to be another game where, at the end, we can be happy and satisfied—especially with our performance.”

On the opponent and the potential challenges of the match: “Ternana are a team that currently have a clear identity. I expect a confident side that is fighting for an important objective and that, since the arrival of the new coach, has changed gear and found a new rhythm. We know these kinds of matches are difficult for that very reason. We need to try to play the game we know we are capable of, based on our characteristics. Obviously they will come here looking to take points, but that’s exactly what we want to do as well. If we stay focused and concentrated, I’m convinced we can put in a good performance.”
