On the win and the team’s progress: “Winning is always nice. A victory gives you even more desire to work, although I must say the girls trained really well every day this week. Of course, you play to win, just like your opponents do, so it’s good to be back to winning ways. It’s neither a starting point nor a finishing line: beyond today’s result, there’s the will to grow and improve, living in the present and preparing every match in the best possible way.”
On the match: “Today was a complicated game against a quality and very tough opponent. The positive aspect was reading the game well from the start and staying in it without risking conceding. Then the team gained confidence, building more smoothly and supporting the play better. After going 1–0 up, we were calmer in the second half. Sometimes confidence comes from scoring, other times from not conceding: today we did well in both phases.”
On his personal emotions: “It’s a special win: for me it was the first on this bench and my first in women’s football. I’m very satisfied, but above all happy for the girls. They wanted this victory, they chased it and defended it with determination. It wasn’t an easy match and I believe they were really outstanding.
