Como Women and Enovis, a global MedTech company, on Saturday 23 May the Club’s Training Center in Cislago hosted a non-residential training course dedicated to instrumental therapy in sports traumatology, with a specific focus on women’s football. The event, sponsored by the international brands DonJoy, Chattanooga and Compex, represented an important opportunity for discussion and training for physiotherapists, osteopaths and MCB practitioners from the area working in the sports sector, confirming F.C. Como Women’s commitment to innovation, research and professional growth in the sports medicine field.
The day combined theoretical and practical sessions, offering participants a comprehensive overview of the main technologies used in athletes’ prevention, recovery and rehabilitation pathways.

The event was opened by Dr. Sara Bonizzato, scientific director of the course and head of the Club’s medical department, who introduced the sessions by highlighting the importance of an increasingly personalised approach to the management of female athletes and injury prevention in women’s football.
Throughout the morning, professionals from the Como Women medical staff, together with industry specialists, explored the role of new technologies in athletes’ recovery and performance pathways.
Among the speakers was Roberta D’Adda, osteopath at Como Women and former elite football player, who addressed topics related to the specificity of the female athlete, from the relationship between the menstrual cycle and injury incidence to pelvic floor management, highlighting the importance of an integrated approach between technical, medical and performance departments. Her talk then focused on prevention and post-training recovery, with insights into the use of electrostimulation, recovery boots and tecar therapy, analysing their use, benefits and applications in injury prevention and recovery optimisation.
Alessandro Valsecchi, physiotherapist at Como Women, shared his experience gained throughout the season in the rehabilitation of players from muscle and tendon injuries, illustrating the protocols adopted and the role of instrumental technology in sports physiotherapy. In his presentation, he highlighted the positive impact of technologies introduced through the collaboration with Enovis in optimising recovery times and supporting athletes’ return-to-play process.
Other speakers included Dr. Andrea Bobba, orthopaedic surgeon specialised in sports traumatology, who focused on rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament surgery and the different surgical procedures associated with rehabilitation pathways, and Dr. Giampaolo Lucchesi, physician and physiatrist, who discussed overuse injuries and the integration between diagnostics, biomechanics and instrumental physical therapy.

“The day confirmed the value of the partnership between Como Women and Enovis, a collaboration that allows the Club to continuously invest in innovation, cutting-edge technologies and professional development, providing its athletes with increasingly advanced tools for injury prevention, recovery and performance enhancement, as well as a highly qualified medical staff,” said Sara Bonizzato at the end of the event. “What became clear is that the medical department has real expertise in ‘sports gender medicine’, which is not just a theoretical concept but a clinical practice. An approach that is not widely present in external clinical practice or among external professionals.”
“It is also a great added value for us at Enovis to collaborate with an important sporting organisation and engage with professionals in the field who undoubtedly have a deep understanding of the subject. Collaborating by providing useful tools in daily practice is a source of pride for us. I would like to thank all the Como Women staff for the opportunity to grow alongside an organisation that is committed every day to the development of women’s football,” said Luca Veneroni, Development Manager Italy, Recovery Sciences at Enovis.
