The words of Stefano Sottili on the eve of Como Women–Roma

Como Women are preparing to face Roma in the seventh matchday of the Serie A Women Athora. The game is scheduled for tomorrow, November 23, at 12:30 PM at the Ferruccio Stadium in Seregno.

On the eve of the match, head coach Stefano Sottili shared his analysis and his thoughts ahead of the game.

“We come into this match after three consecutive wins, but the first thing that helps us avoid lowering our guard is precisely the value of the opponent. We must approach the game with calmness and balance, the same qualities that have characterized the team even in the most difficult moments — as I had already said before the match against AC Milan. It’s a good moment for us, but it shouldn’t distract us: it should simply allow us to play with the right freedom and balance as we face a team that has been the best in the league so far. Roma have recorded five wins and only one defeat, rightfully earning their place at the top of the standings.”

Speaking about the opponent, he added: “Roma have lost only one match in the league, against Fiorentina, and they are coming off a draw in the Women’s Champions League. They are a team with great quality and a squad full of options. Honestly, I see many more strengths than weaknesses, and the league table confirms that. No one is unbeatable, we know that, but it’s only right to acknowledge how well Roma have done until now.”

Finally, on the growth of the group, he said: “There is still a lot of work to do, both collectively and individually. But what is most rewarding for us — and I say ‘us’ because I speak on behalf of the entire technical staff — is the players’ commitment in their daily work: they never settle and are always looking to improve. This attitude greatly helps our work throughout the week. And fortunately, nothing has changed compared to previous weeks: everything has continued as usual, confirming the balance we see within the group. Of course, the real answers must come on the pitch, but judging by what the players do every day, we are sure they will always give their very best.”
