Ahead of Como Women vs Inter: Pre-match Statements

Como Women are preparing for their match against Inter, valid for the eleventh round of the Serie A Women Athora. On the eve of the match, scheduled exceptionally for tomorrow at the “Città di Meda – Mino Favini” Stadium, head coach Stefano Sottili shared his thoughts.

“After the draw in Naples, we come into this match in good condition. Since the restart, we have shown that we are in good shape, despite the squad not being very large at the moment. For various reasons, we don’t have many options available, but the players at our disposal have shown they are ready and in good physical and mental condition. We are also pleased with the arrivals of Pinther and Capelletti, who will help us along our path until the end of the season.”

“Tomorrow we will face a team that, considering all competitions, comes into the game on the back of six consecutive wins. This shows that they are going through an excellent period, both in terms of performances and results. More than managing the game, it will be about being sharp in every aspect. We will need to be strong physically, tactically, and mentally, going onto the pitch with freedom and without initial fear, in order to play a courageous match. We know we are facing an opponent that has not only rediscovered results, but also has almost the entire squad available again. This has raised the level of their weekly work and has led to victories accompanied by strong performances. We are talking about a team with great quality and physicality. They are very dangerous on set pieces, but not only there: you can’t afford to give them too much space because they have the quality to do whatever they want with the ball.”

“We are aware of their strength, but we also know that we can put them under pressure—this is our objective. To get a result, we will need to raise the level of our collective performance to the maximum, and consequently also our individual performances. I believe the players are fully aware of this. I am confident that tomorrow we will put in a strong performance.”
