F.C. Como Women joins the “Un Dolce Raro” initiative in support of vulnerable girls and boys

F.C. Como Women confirms its social commitment to the local community by joining the solidarity initiative “Un Dolce Raro”, promoted during the month of March, traditionally dedicated to raising awareness about rare diseases.
Rare diseases are conditions that affect fewer than one person in 2,000. Taken together, however, they impact a significant number of families: it is estimated that there are more than 8,000 known rare diseases, involving approximately 2 million people in Italy. In 80% of cases, they appear during childhood and are often linked to genetic conditions, potentially affecting multiple organs as well as motor and cognitive development.
As part of the initiatives scheduled between late February and March, the “Un Dolce Raro” project involves several pastry shops in the Como area, which will create and sell a special dessert dedicated to Rare Disease Week. The initiative will take place locally from February 28 to March 8, 2026. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Diversamente Genitori Association, an organization that supports families of children with vulnerabilities.

The funds raised will help support the project “Il sogno di Zeno,” promoted by the Associazione Diversamente Genitori together with Il Giardino di Luca e Viola. The initiative provides training programs for support teachers, classroom teachers, and educators on the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), a key tool for fostering school inclusion for students with communication disabilities. The project is carried out in collaboration with the AAC expert team of the Child Neuropsychiatry and Pediatrics Units of ASST Lariana, with the aim of concretely supporting schools that wish to implement AAC projects for their most vulnerable students.
Through its participation, F.C. Como Women reaffirms the importance of sport’s social role as a vehicle for awareness, solidarity, and tangible support for the local community.
The Club invites fans, families, and citizens to support the initiative by choosing “Un Dolce Raro”: a simple gesture that can help make a meaningful inclusion project possible.
