Stefano Sottili’s team came out on top with a 4–2 victory, thanks to goals from Nischler (brace), Pavan, and Kerr.
Match report
Como Women got off to the perfect start, taking the lead just three minutes in through Nadine Nischler. The midfielder from South Tyrol took advantage of a missed clearance by goalkeeper Ghioc and calmly slotted the ball into the net from the edge of the box, despite Ripamonti’s attempt to clear it off the line.
Ternana tried to respond in the 23rd minute with a long-range effort from Pirone, which flew over the crossbar. Como Women continued to press and came close to doubling their lead in the 26th minute when Kramzar’s right-footed shot inside the area was saved by Ghioc; Nischler was unable to convert on the rebound. A few minutes later, following a free kick, Rizzon tried a volley from the edge of the box that missed the target by inches.
The well-deserved second goal arrived in the 33rd minute: once again Nischler pounced on a defensive error, intercepting a short back pass from Pacioni to the goalkeeper and slotting the ball home for 0–2. Sottili’s side continued to push forward and, in the 37th minute, Pavan made it three with a stunning Olympic goal — her corner kick hit the inside of the post before crossing the line.
Ternana had a late chance in the half when Lázaro headed over the bar, and the first half ended with Como Women leading 0–3.
Como Women began the second half with the same intensity. Early on, Bernardi won the ball in midfield and played Nischler through on goal, but the post denied her what would have been her first Serie A hat-trick. In the 63rd minute, Gilardi was called into action to tip Petrara’s long-range effort over the bar with a superb save. Following the play, Ternana’s coach Cincotta requested a VAR review (FVS) for a possible foul on Pirone inside the box prior to the shot. After checking the monitor, the referee awarded a penalty, which Pirone converted to make it 1–3 in the 67th minute.
Como Women reacted immediately. Just minutes after coming on, Kerr scored the team’s fourth goal in the 73rd minute with a precise left-footed strike from inside the area that found the bottom-right corner.
In the 78th minute, a foul by Howard in the box gave Ternana another penalty. Once again, Pirone made no mistake from the spot, securing her personal brace and bringing the score to 2–4.
Ternana pushed forward in the closing stages, but Sottili’s side stayed organized and focused, managing the lead until the final whistle.
With this result, Como Women claim their second consecutive victory and move up to 9 points in the standings. The next fixture for Sottili’s team will be on Saturday, November 15 at 18:00, against AC Milan at the Stadio Ferruccio in Seregno.
