Here are the post-match comments from head coach Stefano Sottili and midfielder Nadine Nischler:

"We played a good match against a very strong team. It's a pity we weren’t able to make the most of the chances we created — we didn’t capitalize on them and weren’t sharp enough to find the equaliser.

I have very little to reproach the girls for, except for the way we managed possession. That’s an area where we definitely need to raise our level. We have all the qualities to do it better. It takes time, but the potential is there.

Fiorentina won 2-0, but I don't think they had that many more chances than us to justify the result. We created several opportunities as well — partly thanks to their goalkeeper, and partly due to our own lack of precision, we couldn’t convert them. That, in the end, explains the final score. Still, we competed on equal terms — nothing to take away from Fiorentina, a team we know well and one that has strengthened significantly.

Now we’ll start preparing as best we can for the next match against Genoa, and we’ll give everything in the remaining group games to try and earn qualification."

Nadine Nischler added: "It’s disappointing to lose this match because we created several chances, and against teams like Fiorentina, if you don’t finish those chances, you end up paying for it. In the second half we tried everything to score, but unfortunately, it just didn’t happen. Now we’ll focus on preparing the next match against Genoa in the best possible way."
