Ahead of Napoli–Como Women: Pre-Match statements

Como Women are preparing for the match against Napoli, valid for Matchday 10 of the Serie A Women Athora. On the eve of the game, scheduled for tomorrow at 6:00 PM at the “Giuseppe Piccolo” Stadium in Cercola (NA), head coach Stefano Sottili spoke to the media:

“It is undeniable that getting a positive result tomorrow in Naples is important for the path we are on. It would have been important regardless, even if the outcomes of the last two matches had been different. The league restarts after the winter break and that always brings a degree of uncertainty for several reasons, but at the same time it is great to be back playing official matches.”

Speaking about the opponents, he added: “We will be facing a team that is doing very well and has already been very active in the transfer market, a clear sign of their ambitions and the clarity of their ideas. This is not just my opinion: so far this season, the two teams that have surprised the most and delivered the strongest performances are Napoli and ourselves. We can therefore speak of a clash between two of the surprises of Serie A Women, at least up to this point.

Napoli are a team with a strong identity — aggressive, physical and very well organised, especially in the attacking phase and from set pieces. We are fully aware that we will need a high-level performance in order to come away from this away match with a positive result.”
