Serie A Women Athora, Juventus-Como Women: Nischler and Sottili's statements
Nadine Nischler’s Words
"I'm absolutely thrilled about this win against Juventus, I honestly have no words," said Nischler, the match-winner and MVP of the game. "It's even more special knowing this is a historic result. Today, we were all united — we won because each of us played for one another. These are the best kind of matches, the ones where you step onto the pitch without fear. We created the right atmosphere and team spirit, and that’s what led us to this result."
Stefano Sottili’s Press Conference Analysis
On the victory: "How do you beat a team like Juventus? Everything has to work perfectly. It takes a mix of things: great involvement, desire, team spirit, and the ability to make the most of the few chances we knew we’d have.
Another very positive aspect of today’s performance is that we allowed them very few real opportunities, and that’s something we should be proud of. Juventus have players of the highest calibre — like Walti, who has outstanding quality. Our plan was to reduce her influence on the game as much as possible and to make her uncomfortable. The fact that we gave up so few clear chances shows that the strategy worked — along with, of course, the win itself."
On the team’s mentality: "The players need to continue building confidence in themselves. They have to be aware that they’re capable of playing matches like this, as long as they limit mistakes and stay focused. Just like they did today."
