Veronica Bernardi’s comments

On the result: “We made a few mistakes in certain situations and at times we lacked a bit of aggression, but we’re already working to improve and we’re fully focused on our next match against Juventus.”

On scoring her first goal in her Serie A debut: “On a personal level, the first thing I thought after scoring was to run under the stands to celebrate. But then I quickly realized there were still important minutes left to try and equalize, so I immediately refocused on the game. It’s a shame it ended the way it did, but I’m really happy about the goal. I still haven’t fully processed the fact that I scored my first goal in my Serie A debut. I’m feeling so many emotions—I'm a striker, and we live for moments like these.”

Head Coach Stefano Sottili’s analysis

“It was a good match, and the result doesn’t reflect what we showed on the pitch. We gave away very little and conceded two goals in similar situations where we clearly need to improve—though credit must go to Lazio for how they capitalized. Perhaps their clearest chance was the header in the first half, but we had similar opportunities ourselves. What really disappoints me is coming away with no points. Honestly, even a draw wouldn’t have satisfied me fully, because the team’s performance deserved a different outcome. We played on par with them, if not better. They were simply more clinical in taking advantage of the very few chances they had, unlike us. We certainly deserved a different result. As for the absences? The players who were on the pitch today did well. The only regret is the final scoreline.”
