The match between Juventus and Como Women, valid for the second matchday of Serie A Women Athora, took place at the “Pozzo-La Marmora” stadium in Biella. Stefano Sottili’s side came away with a historic 1–0 victory thanks to a late goal from Nischler.

The home side tried to take control early and came close to scoring in the 9th minute through Girelli, who was played in from the right and found herself free in front of goal. However, Gilardi came off her line brilliantly to deny her. In the 18th minute, a potential handball by Kullberg in the box led the Lariane coach to request a VAR review. After checking the monitor, the referee opted not to award the penalty.

The match continued at a high tempo, and in the 24th minute Como Women created a major chance: Pavan, well picked out in the box by Petzelberger, fired a first-time shot, but De Jong made a superb save to turn it behind for a corner. Just a few minutes later, in the 28th, Juventus appealed for a penalty after a possible holding foul on Girelli in the box, but once again, following a VAR review, the referee waved play on.

In the 33rd minute, former Juventus player Lehmann created a dangerous opportunity for Como Women. The Swiss forward found space in the six-yard box and fired a low shot from the right, but De Jong handled it comfortably. At the other end, in the 38th minute, Godo attempted a looping header for Juventus after beating the Como defence to the ball, but her effort was no trouble for Gilardi.

Juventus increased the pressure toward the end of the first half and nearly broke the deadlock in stoppage time. Beccari found space for a shot, but Gilardi was once again up to the task. Moments later, Beccari earned a free-kick on the edge of the box after a foul by Sagen. Girelli took the set-piece, but her shot was blocked by the wall. She recovered the rebound and crossed it back into the box, where Krumbiegel got to it first, but her shot missed the target. The first half ended goalless.

The second half opened with another Juventus chance from a corner, but Kullberg's shot at the near post missed the target. The Bianconere continued to press and came incredibly close in the 64th minute when Beccari’s long-range effort struck the post.

Como Women responded in the 70th minute through Pavan, who carried the ball across midfield and tried her luck from distance, but her shot went wide. Juventus increased the intensity in the final stages of the match, threatening several times from set pieces, but the Lariane defence remained composed and solid.

Then came the game’s decisive moment. In the 84th minute, with Juventus pushing forward, Como Women struck. From a corner taken by Petzelberger, Nischler was perfectly positioned at the far post and fired home a brilliant first-time right-footed volley to give her side the lead.

In the final minutes, Juventus threw everything forward in search of an equaliser, but Sottili’s team held firm with great determination until the final whistle.

This marks a historic first-ever league victory for Como Women against Juventus. The Lariane’s next Serie A fixture is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, away to Sassuolo at 12:30 PM.
