Chiara Cecotti ahead of Como Women vs Lazio: "Returning to the pitch is an indescribable emotion"

Ahead of the opening match of the Serie A season between Como Women and Lazio, scheduled for Sunday, October 5, 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Stadio Ferruccio in Seregno, Chiara Cecotti spoke to the club. She is finally back in the squad after a long injury that kept her off the pitch since January.

"Playing again feels amazing. The emotions are hard to put into words, but I can say it was incredibly moving. I can’t wait to be back on the pitch with the team and help my teammates."

On her recovery journey and the challenges she faced, she said: "These past months have been tough, especially mentally. Even just getting back to doing normal things wasn’t easy. Returning to the field after all this time is truly an indescribable feeling."

Her comeback coincides with the start of the Serie A season, and with it come new goals:
"On a personal level, my goal is to return to playing at 100% and contribute as much as I can to the team. As a group, we’ll take things one game at a time, trying to improve day by day. We have many new players, and we know it might take some time to find the right balance, but I’m confident we’ll do well."

Finally, a few words on the upcoming match against Lazio: "The first match of the season is always a game of its own – it’ll be different from those we played in the Serie A Women’s Cup. The emotions will be strong, and the debut will definitely be mentally challenging. But once we’re on the field, we’ll focus on giving our best and having fun… and everything will feel normal again for me."
