Primavera 2 Championship: U19 beaten 2–0 at home by Bologna
In Group A of the Primavera 2 Championship, Como Women’s U19 side fell to a 2–0 home defeat against Bologna, with goals from Boni and Riccio. At the end of the match, head coach Riccardo Panzeri analyzed both the result and the team’s performance.
“It was a very tough match against a high-level opponent. It was a game we had prepared very well: overall the girls delivered a great performance, they approached the match in the right way and gave away very few reference points. The regret is that we conceded two goals from two set-piece situations. Structurally, it was a match that could have ended 0–0. They had these two favorable situations, but overall it was a very balanced game.
Now we have to approach the last matches in the best possible way. At the same time, it’s important to underline the growth this team is showing. I told the girls they should be proud to play matches at this level: it’s normal to be angry when things don’t go the way you want, but the path we’re on is important. The team is working very well and has become a tough group that fights for every ball, with a strong identity and the ability to understand the key moments of the game. I’m really proud of that.”
The Primavera’s next fixture will be away to Venezia during the weekend of March 21.
