Primavera 2 Championship: Panzeri’s U19 Players Defeat Freedom 4–0
In Group A of the Primavera 2 Championship, Como Women’s U19 defeated Freedom 4–0 thanks to a brace from Evangelista and goals by Cappellano and Del Rio.
Here is the post-match comment from Primavera head coach Riccardo Panzeri:
“It was a performance in line with our recent displays: we started strongly and took the lead straight away thanks to the pressing we had worked on during the week. We were up against a tough and well-organized side, but we were always in control, delivering a solid performance from a technical, tactical, and mental standpoint. Unfortunately, we experienced a difficult moment just a few minutes in due to an injury to one of our players, who hit her head and lost consciousness. The girls reacted brilliantly, and we also played for her. I’m very pleased because we’re finally bringing our weekly work onto the pitch: in the final third we showed more quality and scored four goals, all from well-built team moves. I’m especially delighted to highlight the goal scored by a 2010-born player on her league debut. We need to keep going like this: we’re growing, we’re enjoying ourselves, and by playing as a real team, we can achieve great satisfaction.”
