Sophie Howard is a F.C. Como Women player: welcome Sophie!

Born in 1993 and holding both German and British citizenship, Howard joins Como on a contract running through 2027.
Her career has spanned some of the top leagues around the world. In Germany, she played for Hoffenheim, while in the United States she suited up for the Colorado Rapids Women. She later moved to England, where she spent six seasons in the top division — first with Reading, and then from 2020 with Leicester City.
With the Foxes, she established herself as a key figure in defense, earning a reputation as a reliable leader and even wearing the captain's armband.
“I'm really excited to join Como, a club with a clear vision and big ambitions,” said the player in her first words as a Como signing. “It’s a new league for me, so I’ll have to adapt quickly. I look forward to bringing my experience and qualities to help the team and the club grow as much as possible”.
Howard also brings significant international experience. She represented Germany’s U20 national team, winning a silver medal at the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Since 2017, she has earned over 60 caps for the Scottish senior national team.
