Stefano Sottili’s Analysis

“In the first half we showed a clearly superior level of quality, while in the second half Parma did better than us, although without creating real scoring chances. The team’s greatest strength today was its ability to suffer together during the difficult moments.

Technically, we played a modest second half: we lost too many balls and struggled in our build-up play. However, the players’ commitment and focus in the defensive phase allowed us to concede very little. At the same time, we were able to make the most of the few chances we had. We have to be honest: we didn’t create many. In the past it was the opposite — we produced a lot without managing to finish. Football is also this.

The team truly deserves credit for staying compact and holding strong during the toughest phase of the match, when Parma was superior to us in terms of ball possession. It was important for us to give continuity to our results. I would like to see the personality and quality we showed in the first half throughout the entire ninety minutes, especially in our ball management. But over the course of a match there are always phases in which you must know how to suffer, and today the players were exemplary. We did well to win the ball back in areas of the pitch where we usually struggle more, and above all to avoid conceding scoring chances. From this match we take home not only the result, but also valuable insights for the continuation of the season.”

Mathilde Kruse Madsen’s Words

These are the words of Mathilde Madsen, the goalscorer: “This victory is truly important. The match was important, as they all are, but today it was essential to return home with three points. We don’t look at the standings, but earning points is crucial for our journey in the league. I’m happy about the goal: I like scoring and helping the team, both defensively and with my goals. I’m really very happy.”

Mario Familari’s Comment

In the post-match, Mario Familari, Como Women’s athletic trainer, also shared his thoughts:
“I want to highlight what we have been doing from July to today — the daily work carried out by the entire staff. I’m fortunate to have excellent colleagues by my side, and the work we do every day, in my opinion, allows us to take the field with a consistently high-level performance.”
