Alexandra Chidiac’s words

“We knew it would be difficult to play against Roma: they are having an important season and have very talented players in their squad. After their first two goals, however, we reacted as a team and turned the game around: this fully reflects the spirit of our group. It wasn’t enough today, that’s true, but there are many positives we can take from this match. I am very proud of the team.

I’m also very happy about the goal: my third with this shirt, the second with my ‘right foot’—something some might call special. I’m still happy to represent this club, which has always supported me and given me many opportunities to express myself on the pitch. For that, I am truly grateful”.

Davide Borin’s comments

“It was a balanced match: both halves were evenly contested, and it’s a shame we conceded those two goals right at the start of the second half. It was difficult to manage certain phases of the game, as well as their quality and strength. We managed it for large parts of the match, but in other moments we didn’t.

I think that, as the coach asked us during the week, we competed well and we can be proud of the players. I feel sorry for them because they gave everything—really everything—and perhaps they deserved to come away with at least a point. It was great to see their reaction throughout the game and their determination to never give up. There are certainly many things to improve, but this is an important foundation. In my opinion, we need to come away from this with greater awareness.

We have to keep working well during the week with the coach, as we’ve been doing, and maintain consistency in this type of performance. They are a great team and put us under pressure, but we showed that we can compete and that we can truly hold our own against anyone.”
