Como Women are preparing for their Serie A Women Athora Matchday 21 clash against Napoli. Ahead of tomorrow’s game, scheduled for 12:30 PM at the Ferruccio Stadium in Seregno, assistant coach Davide Borin shared his statements on the upcoming fixture.

“After the performance in Florence, despite not taking any points, it wasn’t easy to approach this week, especially because for several matches now the performances have been there for everyone to see. The girls were disappointed immediately after the game because when results don’t come, there is inevitably a sense of frustration, even when the performances are good. Together with the head coach, we tried to maintain a positive attitude, as we have been doing for some time now. We are happy with the players’ performances and attitude, even if the recent results show that there is still something we need to improve. We worked on the aspects we felt needed adjustment from a technical point of view, but above all we focused on the players’ mentality, trying to keep the group enthusiastic, calm and positive.”

On Napoli and the challenges of the match: “I knew Napoli could do well this season, also because of the experience I had there last year, especially after the arrival of the new head coach. Credit must go to the club and the staff because they are achieving something extraordinary in an environment that was not used to competing at these levels. They are a strong team, both in terms of ideas and mentality. They have a clear identity and have achieved important results against every type of opponent. During the week we analysed them carefully and we will need to do well in limiting their strengths. Technically, we can compete with anyone and tomorrow we must step onto the pitch with the aim of winning because we have the quality to do so. We need to bring into the match everything we show during training sessions: if we continue to perform like this, I am convinced that sooner or later the results will come.”
