At the end of the match, MVP Sophie Howard and Como Women head coach Paolo Tramezzani shared their thoughts.

Sophie Howard’s comments

“Obviously, our goal is always to win. Today as well, we wanted to take home all three points, but we were up against Milan, a team with great quality.

We are still satisfied with the draw and with what we showed on the pitch. There are certainly aspects we need to improve, but that’s also positive because it allows us to keep growing. As for not conceding goals, I’m very proud, but above all of the team. It’s a crucial aspect we’ve been working hard on, and we want to continue in this direction.”

Paolo Tramezzani’s analysis

“We tried to win this match: we came here with the intention of winning and we prepared for it throughout the week. That was evident during the game, as there were moments when we were dangerous. We came close to scoring and created several situations to get into the opposition’s penalty area.

We defended well and, even when they attacked, we didn’t face any major risks. Beyond the positive results, keeping four consecutive clean sheets gives these players confidence, and that showed again today against a team in good form.

We played on equal terms with them, with courage and heart, and for me that matters more than the points earned on the pitch. I’m also very pleased because, for the first time, we played with a back three while maintaining the same solidity we had with a back four. We did well to find good solutions in midfield, then switch play out wide and become dangerous again. We maintained good possession with quality against a team that also tried to press us high in certain areas. If today was a test, then we can say it was passed. Now there will be a break, which will allow us to work well with the full squad available, unlike last time.”
