The Match

The first chance of the game comes in the 6th minute and falls to Napoli: Fløe strikes a low right-footed shot across goal, but the effort is weak and Gilardi gathers comfortably. In the 10th minute it is Fløe again, this time from the left, aiming for the near post, but once more she finds the alert response of the Como goalkeeper. At the 22nd minute comes the first big opportunity for Como Women: Berisha, well set up by Kramzar, goes one-on-one with Beretta but fails to place her right-footed outside-of-the-foot finish, sending the ball wide of the far post. Four minutes later another chance for the Larian side, with Nischler played through down the left; her right-footed outside-of-the-foot shot is saved by the Napoli goalkeeper. At the 38th minute Napoli threaten again: after an initial effort is blocked, Banusic tries a left-footed shot from a tight angle on the left, but the Como Women defence clears the danger. The first half ends goalless.

After the break, Napoli come close to taking the lead in the 48th minute: first Fløe’s shot from the centre of the box is blocked, then Kozak tries on the rebound, but the defence and Gilardi combine to keep the Larian goal intact. At the 66th minute Como Women create a major chance of their own: Nischler, sent through by Kramzar, goes one-on-one with Beretta and attempts a lob from outside the area, but her effort sails over the crossbar. In the 75th minute Napoli are dangerous again, as Gilardi produces a superb save on Banusic’s shot, while on the follow-up Kozak fails to hit the target, sending the ball wide.

In the closing stages, both sides create dangerous situations from corner kicks. The match ends 0–0, with both goalkeepers emerging as the standout performers.

Como Women’s next fixture is scheduled for Sunday 25 January at 3:00 pm, when the Larian side will face Inter at home at the “Ferruccio” Stadium in Seregno.
