On the eve of the third matchday of Serie A Women Athora, which will see Como Women face Fiorentina tomorrow, Saturday, October 17, at 3:00 PM at the “Mino Favini” Stadium in Meda, technical staff member Laura Brambilla shared her thoughts ahead of the match.

On what the team can build on following the match against Inter: “We can build on the confidence gained from our performance against Inter, both in possession and out of possession. First and foremost, we can build on our attitude and approach to the game, which we played according to our principles of play and our identity. We don’t focus too much on who we are facing; we assess our game plan, but we always start from what we believe in. So, absolutely, we focus on ourselves and on what we are building day after day in training.”

On the work carried out during the international break: “The positive thing is that we have worked exceptionally well with the players who stayed with us over the past few days. They gave their absolute best, both in terms of commitment and the quality of their work, which allowed us to continue making progress. By midweek, we finally had the full squad together, and the best part was seeing the enthusiasm of the players returning from international duty and how warmly their teammates welcomed them back. We know we have had only a few training sessions with the full squad to prepare for the match, but, as we said, we focus on who we are and just need to fine-tune a few aspects ahead of tomorrow’s game. Having already built a great deal over the previous months makes everything easier. We may have little time, but we know how to make the most of it and work with quality.”

On the team’s objectives ahead of the match against Fiorentina: “We know that football is a game of moments, with many factors that can influence the final result. But, as we always tell the players, who are well aware of this, we try to build day by day towards the result we will achieve over the weekend. Of course, we want a positive result because I believe we deserve it for the journey we have been on so far. I truly believe it all comes down to this: the daily work, which allows us to minimise the chances of other factors influencing the match and to steer it towards the outcome we want. We may have little time, but, as I said, we know the right path, and I am certain it will lead us to a positive outcome. We are working with real enthusiasm and quality, and every player, from the first to the last, is giving her best to achieve this goal.”
