Match Report

The first chance of the match came in the 4th minute, when Severini tried her luck from distance. Her low shot, however, lacked power and was straight at Gilardi, who made a comfortable save. In the 7th minute, Como Women threatened after an error by Fiorentina’s goalkeeper, who lost possession inside the penalty area. Nischler attempted a low shot from the edge of the box, but it lacked power and failed to trouble Fiskerstrand.

In the 16th minute, Fiorentina came close to taking the lead from a corner. Cortès rose highest to head the ball ahead of the Como defence, but her effort narrowly missed Gilardi’s near post. In the 22nd minute, Nielsen tried her luck for the home side with a low shot from the edge of the penalty area, which Fiskerstrand gathered safely. Four minutes later, in the 26th minute, Fiorentina threatened again through Bredgaard, whose long-range effort was comfortably saved by Gilardi.

Fiorentina took the lead in the 30th minute when Omarsdottir found the net with a central shot from outside the box, taking advantage of Gilardi’s advanced position. Pinones-Arce’s side moved ahead and held on to their lead until the closing stages of the first half.

In the 43rd minute, Como Women came close to equalising through Zamboni, who unleashed a powerful right-footed shot from around 25 metres. The ball narrowly missed the near post, giving Fiorentina’s defence a scare.

The first half ended with Fiorentina holding a narrow lead thanks to Omarsdottir’s goal.

The second half began with Como Women immediately finding the equaliser. In the 46th minute, following a corner, Bergersen rose to head the ball home from the centre of the penalty area, making it 1-1. It was the Norwegian’s first goal in a Como Women shirt.

In the 50th minute, the hosts came close to taking the lead when Borbye unleashed a shot from the right that crashed against the crossbar.

In the 61st minute, Bergersen threatened again with an excellent move down the left. Her shot narrowly missed the far post, failing to find the target.

Fiorentina responded in the 78th minute through substitute Hurtig, who had recently come on and attempted a header from a cross delivered from the right. Her effort, however, sailed over the crossbar guarded by Gilardi.

In the 83rd minute, Como Women came agonisingly close to taking the lead. A cross from the right found Nielsen, who slid in to meet the ball just a few yards from goal, but she failed to hit the target, sending it narrowly wide of the far post.

Two minutes later, in the 86th minute, it was Fiorentina’s turn to come close to making it 2-1. Tryggvadóttir struck a right-footed shot from inside the penalty area, but her effort hit the post, denying her a goal.

The match remained wide open until the final whistle, but neither side managed to find a decisive goal. Como Women and Fiorentina therefore shared the points in a 1-1 draw.

With this result, Como Women move up to four points in the league table. Paolo Tramezzani’s side will next be in action on Sunday, 25 October, at 12:30, when they face Lazio at the “Mirko Fersini” Stadium in Formello.
