Serie A Women’s Cup, Paolo Tramezzani’s pre-match statements ahead of Milan-Como Women

Como Women are set to play their first official match of the 2026/2027 season tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. against Milan at the Centro P. Vismara - Puma House of Football in Milan.

Ahead of the clash with the Rossonere, in the opening match of Group C of the Serie A Women’s Cup, head coach Paolo Tramezzani discussed the five weeks of preparation, the challenge against Milan and the competition itself.

“Compared to last season, I believe it has been important for me to be able to start the work from the very beginning, just as it has been important to keep most of last year’s squad, because I still have the final month and the team’s last performances of last season in mind. In my opinion, that was the foundation we could build on to continue improving and developing, making the most of the time we had available this year, which we have used to work really hard. The girls are a wonderful group to work with: I didn’t discover that this year, but already last year, from the very first days. They are a group that is extremely committed and embraces every proposal you put forward to them, from a technical, tactical, and mental perspective. This was also important in helping the new players settle in, and thanks to the group they were able to integrate and feel comfortable straight away.”

“I consider this part of the season a phase of testing and experimentation to understand many things ahead of the league. Every game will give us important indications. We are happy, after this month of preparation, to finally start playing and to show on the pitch what we have been working on, facing strong teams such as Milan, Juventus and Como 1907. So I believe this is already a good test for us, to understand where we are and what we can do. Obviously, we also need to see the level of our opponents, so this competition and these next three matches are very welcome.”
