Born in Rotterdam to parents of Indonesian, Dutch and Surinamese heritage, Babb brings to Como a wealth of international experience, gained through spells in the Netherlands, Romania, Cyprus and Spain, as well as significant experience in Italy’s Serie A Women.
Her professional career began in the Netherlands with FC Utrecht, before moving to Excelsior, where she made her debut in the Dutch top flight in 2018. In the 2018/19 season, she embarked on her first international experience with Romanian side Olimpia Cluj, followed by a spell in Cyprus with Apollon Ladies. In 2019, she moved to Spain, where she joined Sporting de Huelva and made her debut in Liga F.
In the summer of 2020, Babb moved to Italy to join Sampdoria. With the Blucerchiati, she made four appearances in Serie A before joining AC Milan on loan in 2021. It was with the Rossoneri that she made her Serie A debut in May 2021, in the match against Sassuolo. In January 2022, she returned to Milan on loan and subsequently joined the Rossoneri on a permanent basis.
Throughout her career, Babb has also represented the Suriname national team.
“I am very happy to be here. I have followed the growth of this project and have seen how much the Club and the whole organisation believe in us. We feel their support and trust, and we are the first to believe in our qualities, our strength and the work we can do together,” she said in her first statement as a Como Women player.
F.C. Como Women welcomes Selena!
