Primavera 2 Championship: Como Women defeat Freedom 2–1 in their final game of the season

In the final match of the season in Group A of the Primavera 2 Championship, Como Women U19 defeated Freedom 2–1 at home in Ponte Lambro, thanks to goals from Donadoni and Corioni in the 91st and 94th minutes.

These were the words of assistant coach Manuel Della Marca after the match:

“Today was the last game of the season and, for a couple of players, also their final match at Primavera level. Unfortunately, our approach to the game wasn’t the best, as we were affected by the emotions surrounding the last match for many of us.

However, the team never gave up and, despite going down to ten players 13 minutes into the second half, we stayed in the game and won as a team in the 94th minute.

Since it was the final match, we really wanted to perform well, and I believe this is the right way to end a positive season. It has been a great year, in which the players have grown a lot, not only from a technical point of view but also on a human and personal level. This league has helped us build solid foundations for the future, with the aim of taking the club and these players where they deserve to be.

This win is for the players, who have given their all from August until today, and for all the staff and club members who work every day for this group. I would also like to dedicate a special thought and thank head coach Panzeri for the trust he has always placed in me.”
